Description: My friend Alan and I decided to take a day trip and visit the little town of Belalcazar. It's about 90 minutes out of Pereira and is perched atop a mountain range between two beautiful valleys. We took the bus to La Virginia where we met up with our Colombian friends Diego and Luz Delia. From there we took a small bus up to Belalcazar. Our first stop was at the Cristo Rey (Christ the Light) statue. This 180 foot tall statue is hollow and you climb all the way up to the head and look out. Don't forget Part Two where we visit the town and have a great meal together.
