Goodbye Lenin, Hello Evryone
Watch
Producer: lauralie
I had the best stay of my life at the Goodbye Lenin: Let's Rock! Hostel in Krakow, largely due to the group of people we met there. Two Australian brothers had a charango (a South American stringed instrument) and a baby grand piano purchased from a flea market in Budapest, and we had many vodka fuelled singalongs in the hostel common room. This comes from a night where the hostel gave us all free shots, and we stayed up until 6 in the morning singing, talking and drinking, making as much noise as we wanted because everyone in the hostel was gathered in the one room.

Montreal Music Scene

Some places, almost inexplicably, seem to be cradles of music. Seattle in the US produced Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana, Manchester in the UK seems to churn out a never ending supply of ‘indie’ bands from The Smiths via The Stone Roses through to Oasis. Another place that deserves to be recognised as a musical hotbed is Montreal in the Canadian Province of Quebec, and in just seven hours you can be there.

A Concert at 35,000 Feet?

Cue the bad “Mile-High Club” jokes. Demonstrating why the commercial passenger jet has never before doubled as a flying concert venue, Jamiroquai played a a set of their white-man funk for a plane full of contest winners on Monday.
